Who we are
DealerWebConnect is a service of Elevated Media Group LLC, a Utah company. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean DealerWebConnect. It covers this website, www.dealerwebconnect.com, and the demo sites we build under it. Questions go to [email protected].
DealerWebConnect is intended for businesses in the United States and for visitors in the United States.
When you request a demo
The demo request form asks for your name, email, dealership name, website (optional), which inventory system you use, and anything you want to tell us. We also keep the time you sent it and, to stop spam and abuse, your IP address.
Your request is stored in our own lead system, which runs on servers we manage. A copy is emailed to Brian, who runs DealerWebConnect, along with a private notification so someone can reply quickly.
We use it to reply to you, set up a demo, prepare a quote, and keep a record of our conversation. We will not add you to a mailing list or send you text messages unless you ask us to.
Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful. It records things like the pages you view, how you got here, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city or region). Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies to tell one visit from the next.
Google processes this data under its own terms. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. To opt out, block cookies for this site or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We do not use analytics data for advertising.
Demo sites
We build demo sites for dealers we are talking with, at addresses like www.dealerwebconnect.com/client/<id>/. Each demo is made for one dealership.
Demo sites record visits: page views, scrolling, clicks, and a replay of the visit. They also log messages sent through the demo’s chat. We capture this with a tool we host ourselves, so no third party receives it. To recognize return visits, a demo keeps a random device ID in your browser’s local storage.
We use this only to follow up with the dealer the demo was built for. Recordings and chat messages are stored on our own servers and are never sold or shared. Visit replays are deleted after 30 days.
Opting out: open any demo with #dwchoff at the end of the address (for example, www.dealerwebconnect.com/client/<id>/#dwchoff). That browser will not be recorded on any demo again. Opening a demo with #dwchon turns recording back on.
To have a recording or chat deleted, email [email protected] with the demo address and roughly when you visited.
Chat and visit recording on this website
This website has a “Chat with us” tab. If you send a message, we keep the conversation, the page you wrote from, how you got here (for example the site that linked you or the campaign tags in the link), and, to stop spam and abuse, your IP address. If we are away and you leave an email address or phone number in the chat, we keep that too and use it only to reply to you.
This website also records visits the same way our demo sites do: page views, scrolling, clicks, and a replay of the visit, captured with the same tool we host ourselves, so no third party receives it. Anything typed into a form, including the demo request form, is hidden in the recording, and so is the chat window. To recognize return visits and keep your conversation as you move between pages, your browser keeps two random IDs in local storage.
We use this to answer your questions and to make the site better. Visit replays are deleted after 30 days, and chats are kept the same way as demo requests (see How long we keep it). The opt-out works here too: open any page with #dwchoff at the end of the address (for example, www.dealerwebconnect.com/#dwchoff) and that browser will not be recorded again. The chat keeps working either way.
Cookies and local storage
This website works without cookies. The only cookies here are the Google Analytics cookies described above. Demo sites and the chat on this website use your browser’s local storage for the random IDs and the opt-out setting described above. We do not use advertising cookies.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share it for targeted or cross-site advertising.
- We do not rent, trade, or give away contact lists.
Who else handles the data
A few service providers help us run the site, and they handle data only to provide that service: our hosting servers, Cloudflare (which delivers and protects the site), Google (analytics), and our email provider.
How long we keep it
We keep demo requests and conversations for as long as we are working with you and for a reasonable time after, so we have a record of what was discussed. Visit replays from demo sites and this website are deleted after 30 days. Summaries of demo visits and chat messages stay with the dealer’s record until they are no longer useful or you ask us to delete them.
Security
Everything is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to our systems is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care.
Your choices
You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will answer within 30 days. We honor these requests no matter which state you live in.
Children
This site is for businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
